Welcome

The clinical experience for nurse practitioner (NP) learners is an essential component of their education. It is through the experience of working with preceptors in different settings that learners are able to develop their practice as advanced nurse practitioners. The resource centre is designed to provide a time-saving strategy for employers and preceptors needing information on development and delivery of preceptorship programs.

The website is divided into three sections: Interested in Preceptorship, Preceptor Resource Centre and Preceptors and Employers Networks. For employers considering a preceptorship program in their agency, Interested in Preceptorship provides general information on how to get started on establishing a program. The Resource Centre and Preceptors and Employers Networks assist practitioners delivering clinical experiences to learners with teaching strategies for role development and meeting course expectations, as well as getting connected with their colleagues.

The Consortium is divided into three regions and a French program. Each region and the French program have a coordinator and a lead university. Individual universities manage their own NP learners, faculty and clinical advisors.
